HERE WE GO!!!

First, I will tell you a little bit about myself and my creative journey...

From a very early age, I loved art. I loved the way a perfectly sharpened set of pencil crayons looked...all lined up in a the colors of a rainbow :) As a little girl, this type of thing would inspire me...And before long, I would have the entire rainbow at my disposal to create whatever was in my little mind. I don't ever remember not wanting to draw or paint or cut and paste...As long as I was creating, I was happy :)

By the time I learned how to use my first pair of scizzors, I was hooked on cutting anything and everything! I would paste these snippits into my little journals along with photos and other little scraps I would find to be interesting.

I have no choice but to credit my scrapbooking waaaaaay back to those days!

Since then, I think I've come a long way and have made an actual hobby out of my cutting and pasting! I started modern day scrapbooking in 2004 and have been addicted ever since!

I am so happy to have a chance now in my life to follow my dreams and my one true passion (You guessed it....Scrapbooking!) to where it may lead me :)

Webster's Pages was and still is a HUGE part of this dream of mine and I STILL couldn't be more humbled by this amazing opportunity. All I can say is that I am sincerely thankful :)

For a fun little trivia, all of the DT gals have completed these sentences....So here are a few interesting facts about me!

1. I can say my style of scrapbooking is...A mixture of shabby, frilly, girly, and dimensional layers with lots of soft colours and detail!

2. I am a cutting and pasting type of scrapper! NO paper is safe from my scissors!!! :)

3. If I can only get two Webster's Pages products for a project, I would choose...Paper and Storyteller alphas!!!

4. I find inspiration in...Everyday life! My family, my friends, art, home decor, clothing...and even advertisements!

5. I scrap in my...dining room, and if you were to come in my scrap room right now you will find...A pile of WP paper and stickers, a few bottles of white distress paint, my trusty pair of scissors, a heat-gun oozing on my non-stick mat, a million little pieces of scrap paper scattered on the floor (all somehow magically missing my garbage can), at least two partially-completed projects...and an ENTIRE rainbow of liquid pearls!!!

6. My most loved technique right now is...Piping on some pretty, dimensional, always-there-when-you-need-that-little-something-extra...Liquid Pearls!!! :)

Now that you know ALL about me...I can finally show you the projects I submitted when I applied for the Webster's Pages DT position in December!

HERE THEY ARE....

~Happy Birthday~

Hi everyone! Mitsue has a b-day coming up soon, and I created a little card to send her warm wishes on her special day!

I loved playing with Webster's Sweet Season papers to create this fun and colorful b-day card! It features many layers and sweet shapes...And the yummy colors really play off on the cupcake theme!

I cut the cupcakes, candy stripes and teal green bits out of the Sweet Season papers from Webster's and then embellished with some lace from Prima and a few bits of paper from My Mind's Eye...

Using different edge punches, I wanted to pile up the layers for a fun and whimsy look...

I piped some pretty pearls onto the candy-colored button, to top off the darling bow...

And added a handmade button from my collection to give the card some extra deliciousness :)

To Mitsue - I hope your b-day is a fabulous and I wish you all the best in 2011!!! To all of you who may be celebrating your b-day today...or sometime soon...I'm sending my warmest thoughts and wishes your way, too!

*Ivana*

p.s. Don't forget to join us for the Webster's Blog Hop tomorrow at 9 a.m. EST!!! It will be so much fun! Hope you can join in!

~Scrap That! Reveal~

It's the 26th...And you all know what that means! Time for the February Scrap That! Kit reveal!

This kit features gorgeous Glitz Love Notes and Fancy Pants Lilac House papers, pretty Prima flowers to the max, a gorgeous Prima flourish, some unique embellies (like the gorgeous heart doily) and so, so much more! For full kit details, please visit the Scrap That! site!

Here's what I created using the kit this month!

~This is Me~

I loved working with the soft colours of the Fancy Pants Lilac House papers. Everything on this page is from the kit, minus the lettering and Prima Sugarplum rose, which are from my own stash :)

A detail shot of the amazing bling from Prima...

Another close-up of the pretty Prima flowers...The white Prima flowers in the kit are absolutely gorgeous! I chose to leave mine the way they are, but you could do so much with these little beauties! I contemplated misting mine...but found the soft white to be just what I needed on this layout :)

Here's a shot of a cool technique using the project product in the kit (watermark ink). I will be sharing details on this technique in a couple of days! So check back soon!

And yet another close-up of the same technique :)

~You're Sweet~

Here's a little card I made using a Maya Road envelope and the same Fancy Pants Lilac House papers. I will be sharing a tutorial on how to use watermark ink to achieve the decorative look that is on the envelope!
Check back in a few days for the quick and easy, step-by-step guide on how you can achieve this look!

And last but not least....

~ Chillin...Jamaica Style~

A fun layout using the Glitz paper and the gorgeously tropical Prima flowers in the kit! The kit contains a package of Glitz decorative cards in fun shapes...Instead of using the cards themselves, I traced lots of the shapes onto the patterned paper which I then cut out and layered.

I painted the chocolate brown American Crafts alphas with white crackle paint and then dotted on some liquid pearls on some of the letters for more dimension :)

A close-up of the pretty colours and laser cut wood swirl which I painted white also :)

Please make sure to stop by the Scrap That! site to get all the details on this fabulous kit and check out the Scrap That! blog to see all the Design Team creations!

~Calling Out to All You Talented Scrappers!~

Have you heard? Scrap That! Canada's Best Kit Club is looking for 3 Guest Designers to join our team!

Scrap That! kits are unlike any others in Canada. Every month, we create an innovative kit full of carefully selected high-end double sided papers, specialty papers, premium embellishments and specialty items. We also include a collectable signature product, a scrapbook layout sketch and one technique product including instructions and tips on how to use it.

Each candidate will design for a two month term between April and September 2011. At the end of the term we will have a contest and let our members and subscribers vote on which of the three Guest Designers will remain for the rest of 2011!

Each Guest Designer Receives:
1. FREE PRODUCT - Two kits plus the embellishment add-on kit, valued at well over $50 per month
2. FAME & GLORY - Your photo and bio on our blog and our online social community!

What we ask of you:
- You must have a blog and update it regularly each week including posts about projects you’ve used from the kit, design tips etc. We ask that you also have links to our site on your blog and other sites where allowable.
- 4 projects created with the kit and 90% of each project must contain kit contents. 3 of these projects must be layouts and the third a project of choice (lo, card, altered item).
- Post your 4 kit designs in our gallery as well as to one other large gallery site, either Scrapbook.com or TwoPeasinaBucket.com. Postings on these sites must include *Scrap That! Kit* in the title line.
- Projects must be well photographed, cropped and ready to be uploaded on our site (and your blog) the 26th of each month.
- Weekly message board and gallery participation during the two month term is required. This is quite possibly the most important thing! We have started a great online community and our members are of the utmost importance to us, so this is huge.

This competition is open to the US and Canada only. Please e-mail 3-4 of your best layout creations along with the links to your blog and online galleries to layouts@scrapthat.ca by February 11, 2011.

scrapthatchat.blogspot.com

We can't wait to see all the submissions!!!
GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL!!!

~You are Such a Good Friend~

Friends are my rock. I find comfort and strength in their encouraging voices...They pick me up when I'm falling apart...They speak their mind when I need to hear the truth...
Days like these, I am so thankful to have good friends.
There are so many ways I would like to thank each and every one of the special people in my life - who, so graciously - have given me their wisdom, patience, and love over the course of our friendship...

~This card is for all of you~

I used a combination of My Mind's Eye and Webster's Pages papers. The purple and teal papers are from the Webster's Pages Hollywood Vogue and Sweet Season collections.
The pink polka dot print is from My Mind's Eye - the Lush Collection.

I wanted to make the wings resemble that of an angel's wings so I painted them with a soft vanilla paint, and lightly dusted them with heavenly glitter.
I added a touch of lace and a sweet little button :)
Behind the wings is a crepe paper flower I created out of some crinkled streamers. I used a pair of pinking shears and lovely vintage note paper to create the fan flower behind the crepe paper flower and finished off the card with a Hero Arts stamp sentiment.

Thanks so much for stopping by :)

~Thank You Webster's Pages Design Team!~

It's been a wonderful year of inspiration over at the Webster's Pages InspireME site and I want to thank each and every one of the fabulously talented DT members for all the beautiful creations they have provided us with in the last 12 months!

Most of the goodies on this card are by Webster's Pages. The pretty papers are from their Life's Portrait, Sweet Season, and Hollywood Vogue collections.
I love how all of the Webster's lines (new AND old) coordinate so perfectly with one another!

I added a cut-out frame from the Echo Park Be Mine-French Chronicle pp and a couple of sweet branches that I hand-cut as well. To finish off the card, I piped some lovely liquid pearls along the edges of the card, along with a pretty Prima flower stacked on a crinkly bow made out of vintage seam binding :)

The stamped sentiment is from a Hero Arts stamp set I adore so much...It's called All Occasion Messages and it has every type of sentiment you could ever need! The print is really small so it's easy to fit onto any card :)

I look forward to a new year of beautiful Webster's products as well as the inspiring new creations by the 2011 team! Can hardly wait for all the fun!

*Ivana*

p.s. If you want to see other cards created as thank-you's to the Webster's Pages DT...check out their InspireME site!
